All we remember in the end

door killea

We look and search in terrotories unknown
and hope to find completion and safety
but most of all love where we are at home
because love is all we will remember in the end

often the easiest route to travel looks fine
so many excursions we choose to take
along the confusing crossroads without a sign
to find the fullness of body, mind and soul

but someone told me and I believe it to be true
when you stand before choice between easy and arduous
always go for the more difficult choice before you
it will take you to places of pleasure and pain

and somewhere along the way that seems scary
you may find the rock that will fit into your heart
sealing the hole and you will not have to be wary
as you see your reflection in the other's eyes

then perhaps the search is over for a while at least
and bathing in the glow of being home
the feast of bodies united in love, aloneness ceased
the love is all we will remember in the end.
