Sweet Anticipation

I look at you and I'm filled with longing
of the things that could come in the days ahead
as we talk, and listen never missing a word
a meeting planned so long ago
anticipation suspended for weeks

It seemed so right, but now we know
you touch my arm, unspoken language loud and clear
you take my hand it seems so natural
the extension of hearts joining at the pulse
anticipation at the strong hold

We take a chance fulfilling the attraction
a passionate kiss seals the longed for intimacy to come
no more words are needed to be spoken as you
lead me to the room silently promising such delight
sweet anticipation turns into reality.
