What do you see?
When I met the giant I asked him what did he see
he picked me up in the palm of his hand so I could look into his eyes
he whispered so as not to frighten me
"Men have the money, the power, and the destiny"
When I met the dwarf, I went down on one knee
so I could look in his eyes and ask what did he see
he said, "Get up child don't bow down to me.
I see, lack, and pain and extreme poverty".
When I met the angel, he hovered just above
I looked into his eyes and asked what did he see
he didn't say anything, his eyes were filled with love
though his tears were flowing free
Then I met the devil's red eyes and asked the same
he smiled at me so enticingly and touched me as he spoke,
"everything, the slavery, the turmoil, the blood and the pain
and it particularly pleases me to see you again"
I asked him why I'm no-one special and he wasn't my friend
"because idiots like you once thought you could change things,
make a difference, bring the world's chaos to an end,
whilst I, the master puppeteer, was always pulling the strings"
