Looking through the eyes the windows of the soul
searching for the mirror of ourselves ad infinitum
in vain self indulgence, we meet and greet and seek
the spark of recognition, the place of retreat, so sweet

approaching others with aggression, frustrated anger
words of wisdom left the space, there is no grace
fear is what motivates all, alarm of potential loss
unreason abounds as we meet the world, not seeing the soul

missed opportunities of blindness, grappling in the dark
until, in the eyes of another, acknowledgement of a brother
or sister or lover, who you know you have met before
and your souls can soar, united in a blessed rapport
