Are the sounds of disapproval and
correction coming from your direction
did I fall into the well of wisdom so grand
arrogance listing my imperfection

never heard of silence when in doubt
did you think it would improve our issues
the list so long, you spit it out
better let it go, and pass the tissues

no I won't cry, just need to sneeze
in this environment, thick with self
think I just caught an airborne disease
put your rusty halo back on the shelf

now I tell you without any vexation
my imperfections belong to me, they're mine
enhancing my Oscar nominated impersonation
of the woman you want you see, so fine

imperfections are the nuances of colour
that give flavour to the stereotype bland
without them, I would be so much duller
look at me, imperfect, here I stand!

  Ik vind het een beetje frustrerend dat ik jouw schrijfsels niet aanvoel, zoals ik gedichten in het Nederlands aanvoel.
  Ligt niet aan jou of je teksten, hoor, enkel aan mijn gebrek aan taalgevoel voor het Engels.
  
  Ik ken er wel voldoende van om te begrijpen wat je schrijft en om te zien dat het technisch allemaal klopt.
