Separation does not become us
no matter how hard we try
convincing ourselves this is okay
every time I leave, every goodbye
gets harder distorting reality
watch you walk away in rear view mirror
the pining starts all over again
absurd, nothing is any clearer
the lengthy days fly by
a trance-like stupor prevails
bridge the longing
with endless mails
filled with yearning
life seems on hold each day
until I pack my bags
to head your way
home again, reaching for you
there is no disconnection
see myself elevated, adored
in your loving reflection
your dark eyes watch
I fall asleep in your firm hold
your body always so warm
my feet always so cold
the lengthy days fly by
elation of life without fuss
until I pack my bags again
