Life's covenant
rain reflecting tearful flows
life's covenant, who knows
everyone has a story to tell
of a personal earthbound hell
lost in a mirror's wicked distortion
depth of fears all out of proportion
behind a mask of wistful smiles
hidden, unrelenting trials
no day is ever the same
a bullet wears your name

This is a poem, not wrapped in velvet but in concrete...
Strange to discover I've used a similar phrasing, distorte.., in a poem that came straight out of my soul this evening, after a meeting with an old and dear friend, who is facing a same predicament as I, with some added mistifyning parameters.
I feel this to be an unhappy poem, and it touches me!
