Courage to be bold

As I stand outside myself
watching the scenes unfold
swallowing chunks of fear
I cling to a trust of old

unwilling to sink with others
prone into the rising mire
evil ruthless corporation
anything goes to increase the empire

quoting laws no-one understands
blatant lies, incredible deceit
threats of consequences
they demand my imminent defeat

sad faces of others surround me
enduring without a bleep
the pitiful pain-filled submission
of humans converted into sheep

I will not run with the flock
black sheep I will remain
although daunted to stand alone
to clash with the powerful insane

as I stand outside myself
