They're all gone now, dead
all gone but one, and you
ghosts of past and present
gather to say adieu

there are no answers
just unremitting grief
Hades stalked the whole platoon
took each one like a thief

your friend who saved your life
the one whose life you did save
lies murdered in a foreign place
in his wretched unknown grave

lay your sorrow on my lap
we'll stay like that till dawn
let your tears flow free
a new day comes to mourn
