Sun rises again
a dark relentless throb
silence sought
not found in the mind
blinding, heavy as lead
wanting to get things right
cannot find the thread
what is the point
of lessons so arduous
life goes on exhausting
with every breath taken
dread of another forlorn day
success or failure be damned
feet keep walking in clay
obstacle courses run on
memories of summer delights
climbing each hill of treason
to roll down into the gloom
ever seeking the spark of joy
the moon disappears
following the stars' deploy
dark nights forever call
given the universe's design
anyone else miss
