Notwithstanding



determined to right the wrong
he wrongs with what he writes
words a constant admonishment
of what he sees through the round
fogged-up glasses which read
notwithstanding the fact he is bright
his light shines so clear at times
then he hides behind himself
notwith(under)standing life
a mystery to himself, he feels
the pain and separation
of those that love in despair
no repair or damage control
he doesn't know how bitter
words from his pen sound
he remains in his chains
bound by conventionality
though he dreams of
wild, wild horses too late
only the song remains
as he hums along
notwithstanding
alone
