Farewell Tristesse
Last night I dreamed of a green man
I've seen him before laughing, teasing
skulking around another door
the last time he needed appeasing
face of my addiction fades from memory
the endless nights of mysteries haunt me still
times of madness, chaos and gladness
love misplaced in time and space, the thrill
letting you go was painful and slow
gratitude abounds for the lessons learned
how deeply I loved you will never know
neither how deeply hurt when spurned
floating on dreams, watching them come true
in love deeper than I have ever been before
free of the past, only days of sweet contentment
I see his face clear, light, loving opening his door
