i never heard of kanshi, can you explane please ?
Thanks.
xx killea: Thank you for reading Tessy.
Roughly, it is as follows:
Kanshi is Japanese term for Chinese poetry (go figure?) and means “Han poetry” which became popular during the Heian period 794 – 1185. This period in Japanese history considered the peak of imperial court especially in art, poetry and literature. Heian means peace and tranquility. Kanshi has various forms but 5 or 7 syllables in 4 or 8 lines with strict rhyming rules (every second line). First line: place, second line: further description, third line: totally another direction/place, fourth line: brings all together.
