Another night
long past midnight
everything surreal
rain patters on sky light
want to sleep not feel
another cigarette
a glass of wine
words endless echoes
in my mind
write a few lines
distances apart
are you there, awake
my aching heart
agonize with music
sense the ricochet
of stealing time
from a new day
hours pass in rhyme
dawn lifts her sleepy head
paraphrase penned dreams
ink of tears…and night is dead

as long as the wine tastes good & the music's allright the night fades away like a dream, I'm listening to the blues 'Stormy Monday' but it doesn't rain over here!
